The Boshoverschans
Entrenchments are defensive works that protected residents from marauding troops in the past. The Boshoverschans is a culturally unique area and designated a municipal protected village sight. The enclosed rampart dates from the 1st half of the 17th century. A very rare feature of this entrenchment is that the original subdivision into small plots measuring approximately 5 x 5 m is still partly intact. This entrenchment is the best preserved historical peasant entrenchment in the Netherlands.
