The Limburg Peel
The Peel region owes its name to the National Park De Groote Peel: a unique area on the border of the provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg. The landscape here, can be read like a history book. Most of the peat bog was dug off by peat cutters and sold as peat, the "gold of the Peel". Traces of peat cutting are still present everywhere.
