Various fishing permits

Would you like to go fishing in the Meuse or the Maasplassen? We will help you find the right fishing permit. There are several fishing permits available.

Limburg permit (valid for 1 day)

From 1 January 2026, the weekly permit will no longer be issued. You can then choose a daily or annual permit. The annual permit is available at VVV Roermond, and the daily permit is only available online. Night fishing and/or fishing with three rods is only allowed if you have a valid VISpas, including permission for night fishing and/or a third rod. Daily permits can be ordered via www.vispas.nl.

Stevensweert permit

The sale of fishing permits has been temporarily suspended due to excessive angling pressure on the association’s own waters. For more information, please visit the website of angling association De Snoek.

Fishing permits for the river Roer

With a day permit, you can fish along large parts of both banks of the Roer, from the Dutch border at Vlodrop to the bridge at Maastrichterweg-Andersonweg in Roermond. Annual permits for the Roer are available to members of the four participating angling clubs (Ool-Herten, Herkenbosch, Vlodrop, Posterholt and Sint Odiliënberg) and cost €5.00. For non-members, day permits are available at Schurenhof in Vlodrop. The costs are €7.00 per day and €15.00 per week. Since 2019, fishing with lead has no longer been allowed. An alternative is available at Schurenhof or at one of the angling shops in the area.

Permit for the river Swalm

The permit for fishing in the Swalm is available at the VVV service point in Swalmen. An annual permit for adults costs €30.00 per year. For juniors under the age of 18, a youth permit is available. This costs €7.50 per year. The permits are issued immediately, so you can start fishing right away. Weekly and daily permits are not issued for the Swalm.
Day permits for the De Wolfsboom fishing ponds in Swalmen are available at VVV service point Swalmen/Van Heijster Kantoor and cost €6.00.

VISpas

With the VISpas, you can fish in more than 90% of Dutch surface waters, in accordance with the Joint List of Dutch VISwaters. The VISpas membership is valid for one year and runs from 1 January through 31 December.

The free VISplanner (www.visplanner.nl or app) is also legally valid.

The VISpas is available at VVV Roermond and VVV Thorn or via www.vispas.nl, for both adults and children up to the age of 14.
