Natuurmonumenten
Natuurmonumenten protects and manages the Hompesche Molen. On the second and last Saturday afternoon of each month (1–4 pm), volunteer millers and guides are at work. They are happy to share more about the mill and its rich history. If you are not afraid of heights, you can also climb the mill. From the gallery, you have wide views across three countries.
During the opening hours of the hospitality venue at the Hompesche Molen, the ground floor of the mill is open. Here, a film by a well-known sand artist tells the story of the mill and the region. Feel free to step inside.
Surroundings
There is plenty to see and do around the Hompesche Molen. The mill is located opposite the Molenplas nature area, where you can freely roam through nature. There is also a path suitable for mobility scooters, wheelchairs and strollers. You can also walk or cycle towards the river Maas and the former Walburg estate, now a nature area where history comes back to life. Right next to the mill, you will find OERRR nature play, where children can explore and play.
Hospitality and meetings
A welcoming terrace is located by the mill. Enjoy a cup of coffee with fresh vlaai or a dish from the small menu at the Hompesche Molen hospitality venue. A perfect stop during a walk or bike ride. The Hompesche Molen is also a special location for meetings, celebrations and events.
