"It is a translation of Beringe as a village. It depicts a closed community, which is reflected in the closed arms of the work. On the other hand, Beringe is also a curious village, which is why you can look through the work like you can through a window", Sjraar van Horen told Dagblad de Limburger.
Although at first, the people of Beringe did not yet see the meaning behind it, their appreciation for this abstract work of art increased. There was also growing dissatisfaction with the municipality for failing to decorate the spot with a table and a bench. In 2008, the neighbours Sjraar van Horen and Appie Maaessen made their own concrete table. Ankie Rutten made a design that depicts Beringe and the neighbourhood finally placed colourful stones there themselves, which were left over from the mosaic works on the Kerkplein.
