The route runs via junctions and starts and ends at De Hompesche Molen in Stevensweert.
Stevensweert and Ohé en Laak lie on an island between two arms of the Meuse. The island is approximately 5 km long and 2.5 km wide. This unique location has determined the history of both villages.
Stevensweert is an old fortified town. A part of the old fortifications has been restored to its former glory. Ohé and Laak is a small, idyllic village where, as a result of sand and gravel excavations, several lakes have been created. These are intensively used for water recreation.
It is possible to split the route into two shorter walks: Round Ohé and Laak is 7 km. Round Stevensweert is 6 km.
The entire route takes you past the Hompesche Molen (Hompesche Mill), Walburg Castle, Hasselholt Castle, the Stevensweert fortress and the Sint Rochuskapel (St. Rochus Chapel).
The route is available in the offices of Hart van Limburg. And for sale in the webshop.
