The Maasplassen in Limburg
The largest interconnected water sports area
The Maasplassen is one of the many pearls of Limburg. The Maasplassen is a vast, contiguous network of large and small lakes, created by gravel excavation. With a surface area of more than 3,000 hectares, it is the largest interconnected water sports area in the Netherlands.
Water sports paradise
On the Maasplassen, you can swim, surf, sail, dive, row, supping, canoe and kayak. You can also choose one of the more extreme water sports such as water skiing and wakeboarding. In the summer months, the beautiful beaches are a must.
Boat tours
To get a good impression of the magnitude of the Maas and the Maasplassen, a trip with a tour boat is an absolute must. Discover the typical Limburg towns and villages where you moor and enjoy the Maas landscape and the beautiful nature during the round trip.
Drive your own boat or rent one
The Maasplassen are perfect to explore with a sailing boat, yacht or sloop. For most boats, a sailing licence is not even necessary! Beautiful waterways take you from one lake to another. No boat of your own? Rent one! There are plenty of marinas where you can moor. Before you set sail, it is important to be well prepared. Check out the information here for a good and safe trip.
